My current top video game is Project Gotham Racing 2 for X-Box. This is actually the third incarnation of the game as it was originally released for the Dreamcast as Metropolis Street Racer - a much better name. I've played all of them now and they have been my favorite racing games. Like most video games I've never finished any of them. In the case of these games though it's not because I just got tired of them - they got to hard. I fear the same here but so far the difficulty curve has been more gradual.

This time around there is a new interesting element in the X-Box Live support. You can use it to play in races online against other players, but it's also interesting in the single player story mode. If you are logged into Live, after you finish each race it uploads your score and displays your global rank. Last weekend most races had about 15,000 scores logged (I'm only on the third a 15+ racing series.) Not only are scores logged but the "ghost" of each players run is also there. You can download any one of these ghosts and watch the replay or even race against it. This is an amazing feature to help you get better scores. I was stuck on a particular race and downloaded the top ranked ghost. I changed to his car and used some of the techniques I observed and ended up with the 75th ranked score out of 15,000. Obviously I'm still pretty happy about it. I have high hopes that with the help of X-Box Live I'll finish this version.
