Tennis and WW

I had a very fun tennis lesson last night. It was not nearly as brutal as the instructor, Peter, usually makes them, I think because this was the last lesson of this session. We played a bunch of the fun drill/games that are the highlight of the lessons. My favorite is called "up and back." In it two doubles teams start at the baseline and Peter feeds from the back wall across the net to the champion team. The teams play out a doubles point and the winner takes the net while the other team backs up and a new ball is fed. You can only score a point when you are "up" at the net. If you are "back" and win a point you get to take the net. The team to get five points first wins and takes the champion side and the other team sits out while a new team comes in. This is a really fun, fast-paced drill that emphasizes my favorite part of the game, volleys.

I'll be joining up when they start up again in January. I'm back in my normal pattern, either I take lessons but never actually play matches, or I play but don't take lessons. It's really hard to find the time.

I started up playing tennis this September after taking a year off. At the same time I started on Weight Watchers. I've had some pretty good success on the WW program, I'm down over 30 pounds...I have quite a bit to go though :-( But lately I've lost my way. I don't exercise regularly and I'm not tracking my food points...I'm trying to figure out what to do. After the holidays I might go public here on the blog and put my weight track up, that might give me the push I'm looking for.
