Truth Machine Closer
A favorite book of mine is The Truth Machine by James Halperin. The story is about the creation of a 100% accurate lie detector. These machines are eventually perfected and shrunk to sizes that they can be worn on a watch or embedded in a pen and show whether the person you are talking to is telling the truth. Obviously this causes significant and fundamental changes to society. It's quite a good book.
Well, folks are trying to make one. V Entertainment is creating a sunglasses based lie detector based on voice analysis. They achieved 70% accuracy in lab trials. Not good enough for legal purposes but it could be interesting for general use.
