(Superhero) Family Portrait

I didn't think it would happen, but I'm playing another MMORPG. After a brief flirtation with EverQuest and a longer time with Anarchy Online, I'm no a superhero patrolling the street (and sewers) of Paragon City in City of Heroes. The picture there is of my wife Kitterly and I, Dr.Manhattan, posing beneath the huge Atlas statue in Atlas Park.

The game is really a glorified beat 'um up. There is very little pretense of an economic system and no "crafting" system at all. It's just you and your superhero buddies going after the bad guys. The more you kill (arrest, they say), the more experience you get, the higher level you get, the more powers you get - repeat. But the game plays great and really looks cool. The visual effects of the different powers looks fantastic, especially with a group of heroes.

Below are some other photos I took in the game (click for larger images). The character creation system is excellent and you should be able to bring off whatever superhero you can imagine. If you're on the Justice server, say hi.

Here is our Supergroup, Force One. That's me (Dr.Manhattan), my wife (Kitterly), and my college buddy MScott (Star Guard).

Check out the little gray alien. The character's name is Alien Autopsy :-)
These show off some of the different chracter possibilities. I'm impressed that very few characters look alike
